Using gravity, friction, and the unpredictable behavior of matter, the Gravity Series evokes lunar or geological surfaces. The works emerge through processes of precipitation, sedimentation, rubbing, and abrasion, where control is partially relinquished to the physical properties of the materials.

In particular, three works are created using the residue of sandpaper employed to smooth the gesso ground of other canvases, transforming a byproduct into primary material. Charcoal is self-produced from olive tree prunings, reinforcing a cyclical relationship between process and landscape.
